Craig Thomas Gallery is offering customers of all budgets a unique opportunity to purchase Vietnamese contemporary art as it opens the ‘One Grand Show’ exhibition this weekend. Fifty pieces of smaller sized art by 20 Vietnamese visual artists, both well-established and younger, will be on display at the gallery. Saigon-based ‘One Grand Show’ exhibition is modelled on the ‘Affordable Art fair’ concept which is hugely popular in London, New York and Singapore. The idea is to open up possibilities for potential art collectors of all budget to start their own collection of Vietnamese contemporary art. Original pieces of work will be on offer from artists from all over Vietnam, some of them Hanoi-based, others more locally. In keeping with the ‘affordable art’ concept over eighty percent of the art work displayed at the gallery will be priced at US$1,000 or less and nothing will cost over $1,500.

Two established Hanoi-based artists to look out for at ‘One Grand Show’ are Bui Thanh Tam and Ngo Van Sac, both of whom attended Vietnam Fine Art University. Ngo Van Sac has previously been awarded the Vietnam-based Dogma Self Portrait Exhibition in 2012, coming second place in 2013.
The ‘One Grand Show!’ exhibition runs from 26th August – 21 September at Craig Thomas Gallery, 165 Calmette Street, Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, District 1.
